Echoplastos, sound installation where resonance (echo) is shaped (plastos) by synthetic, toxic and polluting materials. Being a paradox of contemporary society, the urban conception of social ecology is confronted with the need to liberate the environment it aspires to – large-scale communion. We aspire to the frenzy of silence and the tranquillity of the crowds, while contemplating nature in a park enclosed between concrete walls. Even so, it is the small gestures that often point us in new directions and more sustainable alternatives in the face of an impending catastrophic future. We take it one step at a time, as possible and as necessary. We walk, listen, feel and change.
Sound installation developped by Sonoscopia for Lisboa Soa Festival.
